About Johnston, IA

Established back in 1905, this town was initially a waypoint for the railway running from Perry and Des Moines. The town got its name from the supervisor of freight for the railways, John F. Johnston.

Interestingly enough, the town’s population almost doubled between 2000 and 2010. Which, for those of us who live or work here, is not surprising at all – it’s a great area.
